World Snowboard Day.. is back on the radar with 20th December being the date..
Peter and the Jo’burg crowd had a gathering in the goneskiing shop last year, which is cool, but this year it’d be great to make a bit more of an event..
I’d love to do a street rail comp in Cape Town… but not sure how keen people would be just before Xmas.. anyone got any views??
In the meantime here’s all the press blurb..
In its 4th year, the World Snowboard Day comes back on Sunday, December 20, 2009 with more countries and more snow resorts. So book your day now, prepare your snow outfit and choose your destination.
The World Snowboard Day has been growing rapidly for three years and has tripled the number of events around the world. Participants have 3 times more locations to enjoy this day, and 3 times more possibilities to discover the joys of snowboarding in a convivial and festive atmosphere. EuroSIMA (the European Boardsports Industry Manufacturers Associate on www.eurosima.com), and the WSF (World Snowboard Federation), who launched this event, don’t want to stop here and return with new challenges: more countries, mores snow resorts and more activities.
The aim of this day is to open the winter season and celebrate snowboarding everywhere in the world. The snowboard scene (federations, resorts, clubs, shops, pro riders, associations, brands… ) mobilises worldwide and offers free demos, products testing and other activities such as parties and concerts to the general public.
So, while waiting for December 20, 2009, don’t hesitate to visit the official website of the World Snowboard Day and learn more about this exciting day… www.world-snowboard-day.com
